Show New medical self-help course offered Springville citizens Every adult .citizen in Springville regardless of occupation, oc-cupation, who has not had a recent course in first aid or medical self-help or those who desire to brush up on the latest la-test information, are invited to classes at the junior high school, beginning next Wednesday, Wednes-day, April 13, at 7 p.m. in room 8. The course continues through nine weeks, training adult members of the family in all aspects of medical assistance in emergency. With the training, train-ing, a parent may save the life of a member of the family or a friend, when services of a doctor are not immediately available, it is pointed out. The course, to be augmented by slides and special lectures, will Include general nursing care, treatment of fractures, burns, shock, lacerations, new artificial respiration techniques, childbirth, care of the newborn and other instruction. Mrs. Karen Boss, Springville ladies .civil defense director, will be in charge of the classes, working under direction of Dr. James Nance and Civil Defense Director Lewis Thorpe. Mrs. Ross has been employed at the Medical Center two years. She and her husband, Wayne, recently re-cently moved to Springville from Provo. |
