Show Tributes paid to community boys' home founder at Sunday services A large crowd of Mapleton townspeople and many from out of town gathered at the Mapleton Church Sunday evening eve-ning to hear Ora Pate Stewart, noted author and Ettie Lee, founder of the boys home at Mapleton speak. It was Miss Lee's birthday and many friends went to the home after church, to visit with her and to celebrate the occasion. Miss Lee paid tribute to the people of Mapleton and praised them for their cooperation in her latest undertaking to es tablish a home for boys without with-out homes. Mrs. Stewart reviewed her book, "Tender Apples," which is on the life of Miss Lee. Forward For-ward to the book was written by Stewart L. Udall, U.S. Secretary Sec-retary of the Interior. Miss Lee reported that 14 homes are now operating and caring for some 160 boys. An additional home in Hurricane will be opened soon and she plans still another in the near future. There are 76 calories in an apple. |
