Show Grandson wins coveted award Mrs. Abe Ullock received word this week that her grandson, Air Force ROTC Cadet Richard E. Hopla, son of Dr. and Mrs. Cluff E. (Moy-ra (Moy-ra Ullock) Hopla formerly of Springville, has received the John M. Mead Award. The award comprises a $200 stipend offered by the University Uni-versity of Oklahoma Foundation, Founda-tion, Inc. Cadet Hopla, a junior in the advanced ROTC program at the University of Norman, Oklahoma, Ok-lahoma, is a chemistry major. He has also received the Sons of American Revolution Award and the American Legion Medal Med-al of Merit. The Mead Award is based on technical knowledge, potential leadership, scholarship and other oth-er attributes. Prescription drug companies almost doubled their charitable donations in 1963 as against 1961, The 1963 figure was $43, 483,900 compared to $25,000, 000 in 1961, an increase of 72 percent. Sales increased only 17 percent in that period. |
