Show 1 I ii ' i DeVere Childs, who is leav-i'np leav-i'np soon on an LDS Mission to Eastern Canada, from Cal. I Springville man goes on mission from California DeVere Childs, son of Mrs. Clara Childs of this city and the late Russell Childs, has been called to the East Canadian Ca-nadian LDS Mission field from Glendora Second Ward, Covina Stake, California.. In his honor, a farewell testimonial tes-timonial will be held Sunday, Oct. 25, in the Glendora Ward Chapel. He enters the mission home, November 2. Headquarters Headquar-ters for the mission is at Toronto, Tor-onto, Montreal, Canada. DeVere has been living with his sister and brother-in-law, Howell P. and Carolee Newman, New-man, at Glendora, and working work-ing since March 1. His mother and other members mem-bers of the family including Mr. end Mrs. Ardeen Childs of Ceoar City; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Childs, Granger; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Childs, Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. V. LaMar Cran-da!l Cran-da!l and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Childs of Springville plan to attend the farewell. DeVere will return to Springville with them for a short visit before entering the mission home. The annual per capita cost of caring for mental patients in public hospitals of the nation na-tion has risen over $1,000 in the past 10 years. |
