Show Six people injured in auto mishap Six Springville people were injured in an automobile accident, acci-dent, three of them seriously, when the car in which they were returning from a trip to the Manti Temple, went over the embankment of the highway high-way between Fairview and Thistle, Thursday of last week. Confined to the Utah Valley Hospital are Mrs. Dorothy Wheeler, 82, who suffered injury in-jury to both legs when they were pulled from the socket at the hip; Leo Robertson with a fractured left leg; Joseph Gadd with fractured leg and ribs and Martin Lewis, severe lacerations over the top of his head and five broken ribs. The first three were riding rid-ing in the front of the car and received the full impact, while June Peirce, August Lucas and Mr...- Lewis were in the back seat. All were given first aid at the Mt. Pleasant Hospital. Later, Mr. Peirce and Mr. Lucas Lu-cas were released to their homes, while the others were taken to the Provo hospital. All suffered painful cuts and body bruises. N It is believed the accident occured as result of a faulty steering wheel on the practically practical-ly new car, driven by Mr. Gadd. A passing motorist saw the car in the barrow pit and notified no-tified the highway patrol, who took the injured people to the hospital. |
