Show Thousands expected on fishing waters Saturday for the opening of season Anglers in record numbers are expected to go afield for the opening weekend of Utah's general angling season this having attached thereto any legal baits or lures. Angling is permitted with any bait except game fish or parts thereof and live fish. The eggs of all fish species are permitted per-mitted for bait (exceptions for Flaming Gorge). Angling is permitted with any mechanical lure, except no lure shall have more than three gangs of hooks, and no line shall have attached thereto there-to more than two baited hooks or artificial flies. Multiple prongs attached to a single shaft is defined as one hook. "Attended" means that an angler must be within 10 feet of equipment being used at all times. Bag and possession limits for trout is 10 fish or seven pounds and one fish, whichever is caught first. Resident children child-ren under twelve years of age may . take only four fish or three pounds and one fish, whichever is caught first. Nonresident Non-resident children under twelve years of age must fish with a licensed angler and the fish they catch must be counted in the limit of the licensed angler. ang-ler. Weight limits of fish willbe computed on the dressed fish with heads and tails intact. Saturday, the department of fish and game said today. Records show this annual opening of the regular angling season draws more folks afield than any other outdoor event of the year, with some 200,000 fishremen expected to be out this year. With this great exodus to the streams and lakes in mind, department director Harold S. Crane today urged each angler to conduct himself as a true sportsman. He noted that most problems and restrictive laws are the result of poor behavior afield. Utah's general angling season sea-son opens Saturday, May 30, and continues through November Novem-ber 30.
