Show Graduation holds significance for Newbury family Taking advantage of obtaining obtain-ing an education is in evidence with Mrs. Twila Newbury and her family as the efforts of herself and two sons, James Marion and Glen, will culminate culmi-nate this week with graduation on the college level and also the high school level. Mrs. Newbury will receive her Master's degree in recreation recre-ation and education at the "Y" after having completed her B. S. degree five years ago at the Brigham Young University. Her older son, James Marion, will receive his 5-year electrical electri-cal engineering degree also from the "Y". Glen, the other member of the - graduating family, will get his graduation certificate from the high school in exercises tonight. Obtaning her Master's degree de-gree is a worthy accomplishment accomplish-ment for Mrs. Newbury particularly par-ticularly since she has been busy as a mother, a community and church worker. Mrs. Newbury has taught school in Santa-quin Santa-quin for the past two years and at the Youth Home for the past three years. Besides all this, home activities required assisting her six children, Glen, James, Judy, Clara, Dale and Ray. Two of the six are married. mar-ried. James and his wife, Mary, have two children; while Mr. and Mrs. Eugene (Clara) Thomas have four. Judy, who is following in her mother's footsteps, is attending the BYU and is majoring in art and dancing. Dale and Ray are junior jun-ior high students. The Springville Herald joins in congratulating this family and all the graduates who will be receiving their certificates and degrees as another school year draws to a close. |
