Show Mr. Zimmerman given position Cecil J. Zimmerman has been appointed a member of the standing committee on Bills and Overtures for the 176th United Presbyterian General Assembly, in session at Oklahoma City. The committee is one of the top committees of the church, and handles all communications, overtures and other papers containing matters mat-ters for the attention of the General Assembly. Mr. Zimmerman, an elder of the Springville Presbyterian Church is lay commissioner to the General Assembly representing repre-senting the Utah Presbytery. Rev. John D. Browne of the Westvale Presbyterian Church, the presbytery's ministerial delegate, has been appointed to the committee on Polity. The General Assembly, the governing body of the 3.2 million mil-lion member denomination, is meeting at the Municipal Auditorium Audi-torium in Oklahom City. Some 2000 persons, including 841 commissioners (voting delegates) dele-gates) will attend the sessions. During the assembly, the commissioners will act on many issues affecting the life and work of the church. |
