Show PHSgets money to fund project Communities of Utah: An Historical Per-s(X'ctivc" Per-s(X'ctivc" was awarded $4,937 tor a series of six monthly lectures. Sponsored by Weber State College in Ogden, the lecture will be at the White Community Memorial Chapel in Salt Lake City beginning in January of 1983. The Center lor Historical Population Studies was awarded $9,279 for "Relocation and Kedress: The Japanese-American Experience." The conference, to be March 10-12. SALT LAKE CITY -Seven projects totaling over $34. (KM), including one in Parowan, were recently approved by the committee of the Utah Endowment for the Humanities. "History in Action," a hands-on application of historial theory and research for students grades seven through twelve, received $2,540. "History in Action" is sponsored by the Parowan Council for Economic Development and Community Preservation. "Asia Fair: " An Education Experience in the Cultures of China, Japan and Korea," a conference scheduled for Jan. 2K and 29, received $8,000. The Asia Fair, designed to help teachers learn to better understand un-derstand and teach Asian culture, is co-sponsored by HYU-ASIA at Hrigham Young University in Provo and several other groups interested in Asian studies. The Dance History Society of Provo received $3,230 for "Dance as Cultural History: A Renaissance Perspective," Per-spective," scheduled for April of 1983. The project will use lectures, demonstrations and cultural reconstructions of Renaissance dance to broaden understanding of the culture and history of the Renaissance. "The Religious |
