Show Cedar Pack continues winning streak CEDAR CITY - Last week's play in the 13-year-old league resulted in the continuing of Cedar Pack's winning ways as they defeated Alpine Lanes 10-6 and shut out Cedar Builders 13-0. Kurt Gale, Chris Weaver and Kurt Rosenberg hurled the ball for the winners in the first game, while Robbie Beatty and Steve Barrick did the same for Alpine Lanes. Weaver, Gale, Rosenberg, Kent Roundy, and David Sanders all hammered out singles while Beatty, Russ Imlay, Deland Harting and Davis did the same for the opposition. The shut over Cedar Builders came with Weaver going the distance on the mound to eive ud three hits, walk four and strike out fifteen. fif-teen. Weaver also led the hitting with a triple, double and single. Gale backed him up with three singles, Roundy with two and Rosenberg and Story with one each. Brett Irons got two singles; and Brett Matheson, one for Cedar Builders. Miller Auto's two wins came at the expense of Cedar Builders and Alpine Lanes. In their 16-8 victory over Cedar Builders Mark Breagger and Al Smith shared mound duty, and Breagger and Greg Sanders slammed out two baggers. Smith and Sanders slugged out three-base hits, Andy Compass, Bobby Park, Hayley Briggs and Amber Murie hit two each , and Troy Peterson and Kenley Brinkerhoff got one each. Glen Jump and Darin Marchant threw for Cedar Builders with Merilee Tom doubling and singling twice; David Bolton doubled and Shawn Nielsen and Bolton singled. Against Alpine Lanes Smith and Breagger were again the winning pitchers, pit-chers, with singles being hammered out by Smith, Compass, Breagger, Sanders, Park and Peterson. Barrick and Boos pitched for Alpine Lanes, and Beatty led their hitting with three singles. Barrick, Whit-tekiend Whit-tekiend and Curtis Tait also singled. |
