Show Survey being planned PAROWAN Because of the unusually high number of persons contracting cancer in southern Utah, a survey is being conducted in the Parowan, Paragonah, and Summit area to trace the people who lived in this area from 1951 to 1962 and to determine if this cancer was a result of open air atomic testing in Nevada. A volunteer group of citizens will be gathering information and keeping records of all the people who lived in the Parowan, Paragonah and Summit area at that time. Mrs. Glenna Orton and Mrs. Mary Gae Evans will head this volunteer committee, and they urge everyone who lived in the Parowan, Paragonah and Summit area during that time to contact them, for they will have forms for family information. The committee will be keeping in contact with Attorney Stewart L. Udall who has been representing cancer victims who believe these bomb tests were the cause of cancer. These records will help him and the cancer victims in court. |
