Show Concert by School Orchestras The Cedar City High School Orchestra and the Junior High Executive and Appretice orchestras will present a concert on Monday, Mon-day, April 2 21 at 8 p.m. at the Cedar City High School Auditorium. The Junior High Appretice group will play several folk songs. The executive group, one ? of the finest junior high orchestras in the state, will play the Bach "Brandenberg Concerto No. 3", the "Jig" from St. Paul's Suite by Hoist, "Bon-Bons and Bossa" by Fesse, and the "Prayer" from Hansel and Gretel by Humperdinck. The High School orchestra will perform the Fourth Movement of the New World Symphony by Dvorak, "Festique" by Daniels, "Marche Slave" by Tchgaikowsky , and "Fantasy on a Quiet Theme" by Neil McKay. The Cedar High School String Choir will play "Canon for Strings" by Pachalbel. This group earned a superior rating for their performance of this number at the state solo and Ensemble Festival last week. Mrs. June Larsen, director of the groups, invites in-vites all interested people to come and hear some fine groups play some fine music. |
