Beaver pumped to a- 17-12 17-12 first quarter lead, with Steve Roberts leading the pack with 8 points. Jess Cox hit 5 and Sheb Yardley and Burt Myers both hit a goal e ach . A 11 five Be ave rs scor -ed in the 2nd period with David Eyr and Rick Carter Car-ter coming off the bench teaming up for 6 points. Roberts, Myers and K.Smith polished off the other 13 points before intermission. Russell Gardner and Rhon Thomas led the pace for the Wolves the first half, com -bining for 13. Smith, Yardley and Roberts Rob-erts connected for 17 of the 20 points in the 3rd period. Followed by Craig Blackner and Brian Morgan, with a goal and a free throw, leaving leav-ing the score 56-44 after three periods. The Wolves came up with 16 points in the 3rd quarter quar-ter behind the shooting of Scott Anderson. Smith drilled 7 more points in the 4th quarter, giving giv-ing him 14 for the night. He had a rought night at the foul line or he would have pushed Steve Roberts for high honors. Roberts had 20 and didn't score in the fourth period because of foul trouble. Myers ended up with 13, Cox 9 and Yardley 8 for the starters. ' Blackner hit four points after sitting out several weeks with an injured hand. Eyre finished with 4, Carter Car-ter 2, and Morgan 1 for the Beavers 75 points. Gardner and Anderson hit 15 each for the Wolves, followed fol-lowed by Russell Banks, with 11. The Beavers entertain Parowan at Beaver tonight for a bid at the 2nd place race in Division II. |
