Show BRYCE CANYON VISITORS DOWN DURING APRIL A total of 24,124 visits were recorded at Bryce Canyon Can-yon National Park during April according to Park Superintendent, Thomas O. Hobbs. This was an 11 increase over the same month last year. The number of visits for the first four months of 1979 is down 3.4 from 1978 counts. All roads and viewpoints in the park are open except the section of road from the Natural Bridge to Rainbow Point, which is still closed due to snow. There is still three feet of snow at Rainbow Rain-bow Point. Park campgrounds are open. A $2. per campsite fee is charged. Trails into the Canyon are improving. One section of the Navajo Loop trail is temporarily closed due to rock slides. Hikers should check at the Park Visitor Center for current cur-rent trail conditions. The Visitor Center is open 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. daily. |
