Superintendent Haslem reported that Milford High School teacher Joe Hillock had not returned his contract con-tract for 1979-80, that he is considering an assistant -ship offer at two different universities in order to pursue pur-sue an advanced degree and had notified the Superintendent Superinten-dent that he will be leaving this area. It was reported that Beaver High teacher, Lynn Parsons has signed a contract withSevierSchool District and also will be leaving the area. He recommended acceptance accept-ance of their notices and release from their contract con-tract where requested. He reported that the vacancies have been filed with the various university placement place-ment offices and several applications ap-plications have been received re-ceived so far. Milford City had requested the installation of a jogging obstacle course on Milford High's grounds. This was approved with the assurance of safety, appearance of attractive at-tractive nature, lack of interference with any school project and maintenance to be the responsibility of Milford Mil-ford City. Superintendent Haslem informed the board that Beaver High's Drill Team had asked for an allocation alloca-tion to attend the USU workshop work-shop again during the sum -mer. He recommended consideration con-sideration for both high school teams. The board appropriated one -third of the pupil cost of attending the workxhop, which would be $22.50 each pupil and stipulated that the approval apply to both Milford and Beaver High drill teams. The following field trips were approved: Mel Os-born's Os-born's English class toSUSC for research; Eldon Stokers Career Education class, to visit the Coleman Plant and the Job Service Office in Cedar City; Beaver High's Physiology Class to visit the Medical Center in Salt Lake; Beaver's SeniorClass to visit Lagoon; and Mrs. Hiatt to attend the workshop in Salt Lake, cost $45.00. The board discussed with them their career goals and advised them to plan now what they are going to be and go after their goal.
