The Beavers, who often seemed reluctant to take an open shot, finally moved into a real slow down In the second half, with the Tigers 12 points ahead at inter - they want a trip to Provo. Presently in fifth place, with little chance to improve on that position, they would meet Panguitch the first day, and likely Milford or Kanab the second day of the Robin, if they get by the Bobcats. A loss the second day would force them to winoverprob-ably winoverprob-ably Wayne in the third round to make it to state. Division I would seem to be the stronger of the two divisions divis-ions and so a win by a fifth place team over a second place team in Division II is not impossible. Milford and Kanab are tied for the Division I lead, and that likely will be settled with a flip of the coin. First place team gets a bye the first day of the Round Robin. Both teams will get a trophy if they are still tied at the end of the season. mission. The slow down didn't work, and Milford out -scored the Beavers, 18-8 in the third period. Quarter scores were 17-12, 32-20, 50-28 and 64-46. The Tigers started fast with Mark Whitney and Jeff Atkin doing most of the scoring scor-ing in the first quarter for the Tigers, and Chad Dalton Dal-ton hitting for the Beavers. Ken Jones opened up for the Tigers in the last three periods, canning 30 points on 10 field goals and 10 foul shots, making 10 of 11 from the line. His 30 was high for the game. But the key to the win was the Tiger defense, and superior rebounding. The Tigers had 41 rebounds to 24 for Beaver, and Kim Williams, Wil-liams, Denny Myers and Whitney made several steals they turned into easy baskets. Whitney backed Jones with 13 points, Atkin had 11, Myers 6 and Williams Wil-liams 4. Dalton led 'the' Beavers with 10, Shane Blackner got into early foul trouble, but got a hot hand in the last period, splitting the nets with four of five jump shots for eight points. Mike, who canned 18 against the Tigers in their first outing, mostly 20 footers, didn't open up from long range, and the tight Milford defense didn't give the Beavers many shots In close.
