Show vroragrn rem fPfiniP'RRffl mm I The State Class 1-A wrestling tournament will be hosted by Beaver High School this Friday and Saturday, February 16-17, with two sessions each day, starting at one and seven p.m. in the Beaver High gym. Eight local wrestlers will be competing for gold, silver sil-ver and bronze medalions, against the best in the state. Five are from Beaver High Oand three from Milford High. First place winners in the Region Eight tourney at Salina last week, were Milton Smith in the heavyweight heavy-weight division, Duane Hen-rie, Hen-rie, 167 pounds, both BHS; and Todd Lister, 119 pounds from Milford. All three TODD LISTER LANEY JOHNSON have excellent chances of bringing home gold medals In their class and racking up first place team points and pick up medalions are 105 - Kyle Moss, BHS, fourth at Region; 138 -Mike Louns-bury, Louns-bury, MHS, fourth; 155 -Laney Johnson, MHS, second sec-ond and Ricky William BHS, third at Region. The team competition will be rugged with other Region Eight powerhouses Wayne, North Sevier, Gunnison and Parowan, plus strong contingents con-tingents from North and South Summit, and the ever powerful Monticello, plus outstanding wrestlers from other Class 1-A schools. Fans will divide their attention at-tention between simultaneous simul-taneous matches on two mats, with one match following fol-lowing Immediately upon the other, so that you'll have to stay on your toes to keep ip with the action. All the action won't be on the mats as you will find parents and fans In the stands going through their own special gyrations to help their favorite along. Wrestling has become a major sport in Class 1-A in recent years, and has almost al-most as big a following as basketball. Fans are voicer-ous voicer-ous and enthusiastic about their favorites. They will invade Beaver from every 1-A school In Utah, and should fill the BHS gym to the rafters. Preliminary matches will be held on Friday, with championship matches scheduled for the last session ses-sion on Saturday.
