Show Fast break defense too much for Rams Jumping to a 12-1 lead and 19-5 at the end of the first quarter, Coach Hillock's Tigers were never threatened threat-ened in the 79-50 rout of the 'Parowan Rams last Friday. Fri-day. Utilizing the fast break, passing game and a rebounding rebound-ing edge of 56 -23, the Tigers never tried an outside shot all evening. Jeff Atkin came closest with a jumper from the foul line in the third period. Guard Kim Williams didn't even get into the scoring columns, and wouldn't have made the statistics at all were it not for his ten assists. Dennis Myers got his eight points all on the fast break. The Rams wholooktohave fair Individual talent, were no match for the disciplined team ball of the Tigers, with Ken Jones, Mark Whitney and Jeff Atkin hitting the boards for 16-8-13 respect -ivly. Jones led the scoring attack at-tack with 34, Whitney 21, and Atkin 10. Other Tiger scorers, as Hillock went to his bench early in the second and third periods and all of the fourth period were Ar-lan Ar-lan Mayer 2, Jeff Hiatt 2, and Steve Wilson 2. The Rams were led by Thornton with 17 and Burton Bur-ton 10. The Tigers led all statistics statis-tics with 36-72 for 50 percent per-cent from the field, 7-13 for 54 percent from the line compared to 23-16 for 38 percent from the field and 4-9 for 44 percent from the line for the Rams. This Friday the Tigers travel to Enterprise. The Wolves are reported to be tough at home and could have some surprises in store for Milford. Game times are 5:40 p.m. for Jr. Varsity and 7:30 p.m. for Varsity. |
