CLASS 31 - Unit n - Challenges in Picture taking. Exhibit to consist of: A story sequence of at least three black and white pictures showing "how to do it" or depicting a 4-H . event or activity. GARDENING - DIVISION N CLASS 49 - Individual Vegetables other than Potatoes and Dry Beans . Garden collection at least 4 and not over 6 kinds of garden vegetables . Each kind must contain an amount or number as follows: Carrots, 10 roots, any variety, properly named. Cabbage , 2 heads, any variety, properly named. Cantaloupes and related melons, 3 fruits, any variety properly named. Sweet corn, 10 ears, table maturity, any variety, properly named. Onions, 1 tray, any variety, properly named. Tomatoes, firm ripe, 10 fruits, any variety, properly named. Tomatoes, mature green, 10 fruits, any variety, properly named. Watermelons, firm ripe, 2 fruits, any variety, properly prop-erly named. Any other kind, any variety properly named. CLASS 50 - GARDEN COLLECTION - At least 4 and not over 6 kinds of garden vegetables. Each kind must contain an amount or number as follows: fol-lows: Any mature Dry Beans, 1 pint In a clear glass jar. Snap Beans (fresh ) 10 pods. Lima Beans (fresh) 10 pods. Beet (fresh, washed, tops off) 5 roots. Carrot (fresh, washed, tops off) 5 roots. Cabbage, 2 trimmed heads. Cauliflower, 2 trimmed heads. Cantaloupe (Muskmelon), 2 firm, ripe fruits. Celery, 1 plant or stalk, trimmed, washed. Sweet Corn, 5 ears, husked, table maturity. Cucumber, 5 fruit lbr slicing. Eggplant, 2 fruits. ' Lettuce, 2 trimmed heads. Onion, 5 bulbs, dry scales intact. Parsnip (fresh, washed, tops off) 5 roots. Peppers, 5 fruits. Pumpkin, 1 fruit, medium size. Summer Squash (table maturity) 3 fruit. Winter Squash (small varieties, mature) 3 fruits. Swiss Chard, 1 large plant, roots attached and washed. Tomato (mature, green) 5 fruit. Tomato (ripe) 5 fruit. SECOND PHASE - 4 muffins, one variety or one loaf quick bread. ADVANCED FOODS One variety of baked products, bread, rolls, cookies, cakes, pies. OUTDOOR COOKING - 4 biscuits on a stick or 4 biscuits baked in a reflector oven or an educational poster showing some skill in outdoor cooking. Exhibits must be clearly marked as outdoor cooking. CANNING PHASE I OR II 3 jars fruit, 3 varieties (tomatoes and berries not included) PHASE HI OR IV 2 jars fruit or berries (2 varieties, 2 jars vegetables, 2 varieties, 1 Jar meat or fish, 1 Jar pickles or relish Jellies, jams or marmalades, 2 varieties, 2 jars jelly or berry syrups, 2 varieties. PHASE HI OR ABOVE 4 jars canned food that might be used for luncheon or dinner. May include fruits, vegetable, jam or jelly and relishes or meat. Include a menu for the meal printed on a recipe card, menu will include foods of a well planned meal, four canned foods will be only part of the meal. DIVE ION B - C LOTHING PHASE I - Skirt, slacks or divided skirt made of woven cotton or cotton blend fabric. PHASE n School dress, or skirt and blouse or slacks or Jumper, woven cotton or cotton blend. PHASE m - School dress or dress with slacks made of woven cotton or cotton blends. |
