Milford's 440 Relay Team set a new State Class 1-A record last week at Snow College's Invitational track meet but could manage no better than third, as Delta and Millard, both Class 2-A schools, tied for 1st with times of 45.3 seconds. The Milfordteam of Curtis Yardley, Gary Mayer, Ken Jones and Randy Kerr were just five -hundredths of a second behind at 45.35 seconds. sec-onds. In track, fractions of a second can hold a slot in a record book for years but Coach Lee is confident that his 440 relay team will break the 45 second barrier before the season is out.' The old mark was 45.6 set in 1974 by North Summit. The Tiger team grabbed 18 points to place 8th, with North Sevier with 19 points the only other Class 1-A school ahead of them. Delta was high with 41 -12; Emery 26, Juab 25, Lehi 23, Millard Mil-lard 19-12; No. Sevier 19; Union 18-12; and Milford 18. Other outstanding performances per-formances for the Tigers were: Randy Kerr, who qualified qual-ified for state in both the 100 and 220 yard dashes. Donald Livingston qualified in the two -mile and should be a contender this year. Dave Pullem vaulted eleven feet, his highest ever, and would have placed with less misses.
