But we do know that there has been a lot of vandals knocking road signs down just for fun. Their fun could cost somebody's some-body's life. Sometime ago there were over fifty signs pushed over between Minersville. Replaced by hiway crews, a good number were knocked down again. Recently Re-cently a couple young fellows knocked down signs between be-tween Minersville and Beaver. The culprits were caught and in both instances paid stiff penalties. There are many isolated cases like the one pictured that go unpunished. un-punished. However, what punishment would be appropriate if a missing sign causes an accident that takes a life. In most instances, road crews have been on the job the next morning replacing signs. However, this sign was reported over a week ago, and was still lying in the barrow pit Monday. We certainly hope it will be replaced the next time we check. |
