Show VFW Auxiliary Has Monthly Meeting V.F.W. Auxiliary to Post 1546 held their regular meeting at the home of Bertha Ber-tha Cottrell. Pres. Ethel Smith conducted the business meeting. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved and the Treasurer's Trea-surer's report accepted. Bertha Cottrell gave a report re-port on the 25 Christmas stockings that were made for the Veterans Hospital. Gwen and Joe Pryor furnished the candy to fill them. Communications were read. One was the stress for involvement in our Bicentennial Bicenten-nial program. Our auxiliary won first prize in the state for 100 membership. The prize was $25.00. One more new member will give us a chance to enter the National Contest for membership. The VFW are going to erect a national monument on the VFW property in Washington, D.C. for the Bicentennial in honor of all men who fought in defense of our country. It was reported that the Nov. 11 Poppy Sale was a big success. Hostesses Bertha Cottrell and Nina Kinross served delicious de-licious pumpkin pie and coffee cof-fee to the following: Flossie Rickerson, Dora Johnson, Margie Sherwood, Nora Wright, Lenora Finch, Lillian Lil-lian Atkin, Ethel Smith and Dora Smithson. |
