Show J.Ucrsity wins cage tests ; The Milford JV, boasting J 12 big freshmen that give Milford a bright basketball ' ' future, won their first two :' games over the weekend, trimming Escalante 47-28 and getting the whole 19 man : squad into the ballgame. i At Bryce Valley it looked 1 as if it wouldbe another run- away, when the baby Tigers i got a 22-11 lead in the first 1 quarter, but the Mustangs came back within 2 before the Milford quintet was able to shake off the jitters and J get the game back unde r con - j trol. Freshman Ken Jones led jj tlie attack in both games, h scoring 14 against Escalante i and 21 at Bryce Valley. i Coach Jensen played his 1 juniors and sophomores very little against the Moquis. Besides Jones' 14, Steve j Moody had 11, Brad Kirk 8, , Rick Puffer 4, Kurt Sher- wood 2, Don Livingston 2, .' Leslie Davis 2, Denny Myers 2, Roy Barton 2, and Royce Robins 2. : Spencer was high for Es- calante with 8. In the much faster Bryce Valley game, Coach Jensen ' stuck pretty much with his ' juniors and seniors until the ' final minutes. BradKirkfol- lowed Jones' 21 with 10, Rick .; Puffer 9, Chad Barton 7, Curtis Yardley 6, Steve , Moody 5, Kurt Sherwood 6, ; and Don Livingston 2. i Bryce Valley's Shake- spear had 19 and Mecham ! 11 in the 67-49 game. On Friday Milford JV will j play Millard JV at 5:40 p.m. |
