Show Roberta Conde ambulance." Sincerely, Deputy Earl (Bud) Richardson Remember - what we do for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others remain Immortal. And there never was any heart truly great and generous gener-ous that was not also tender and compassionate. The other day, I found the following letter. It tells of how one person feels towards another. Of an unspoken feeling feel-ing that I believe most feel at one time or another. "I have a very special friend whose friendship I hold most dear and I have come to know in service, as we worked together these past years. My friend is a mighty fine fellow. He can know everything about someone, yet still like them. His friendship has helped form a portion of my life, which strengthened and helped help-ed my personality and ability to be of better service to the well-being of all mankind. I love my friend because I can be my natural self and not feel I have to "put on" a phony front when with him. He understands those contradictions con-tradictions in my nature, that may cause others to misjudge mis-judge me. The comfort of having a friend my be taken away, but not that of having had one. One's friends cannot be arranged in a row and numbered, num-bered, one, two, three, etc., because each has a special place in one's heart. We can never replace a friendship. It is sweet to be appreciated by a great number, num-ber, and really understood by a few. My friends, I love you, not only for what you are, but what you've made of me. I never had a brother, but you've been like one to me and also when I needed it, a father's guiding counsel and I have deeply appreciated appreciat-ed every time you gave of yourself. Luck may take my fortune, age my years, yet I'll go blythly to the end, if I may have through smiles and tears, the golden treasure of your friendship, Cal, my friend. I appreciate and value the ! twenty years of service you have given to the people of Millard County. And that I have had the good fortune to know and work with you. May you have peace, good health and liapplness in your retirement re-tirement as Sheriff of Millard Mil-lard County and may we always al-ways remain good friends. Many thanks to this "pickle eatin' " sheriff and our County Commissioners whose efforts have given the town of Garrison their fire engine and our much needed |
