The Wilson kids, who all do their share of seeing that you get your News each week, hold the awards won by the News at the recent Better Newspaper News-paper contest in Salt Lake City. The News came in second for the top award in General Excellence, behind the Fayson Chronicle. That award is based on the compilation of points for all other awards won in special categories, some of which are submitted by the newspaper and others which are chosen at random by the Association. Besides second in General Excellence in group one (smaller circulation papers), being held jointly by Steve and Darryl (top center), the News captured first place for "Best Editorial" held by Darryl (top left), second place for "Best Advertising Campaign", Steven (top right), third place for "Best Use of Illustrative Material" held by Kelli Roxanne, and third place for "Best News Story" held by Sean Casey. The News also garnered two fourth places, in "Best Editor's Column" and "Community Service", the latter being won by the News the previous two years, and a fifth place in "Excellence "Excel-lence in Typography".
