It was too bad that she had nis-sed nis-sed her brother by a very few minutes. Arvilla and Austin Williams Wil-liams drove that long way to Delta to help celebrate the 4th of July. They had a very nice time. Molly and Wayne Gonder just pulled the trailer home after spending a few days up the creek, Snake that is, watching and movingthe cattle. cat-tle. While there we attended the M ayor's Prayer Breakfast. Break-fast. The guest speaker was George Ro mney and he is good. Bu mped into Dan and Geri Robison from Baker, and talked for awhile. Spent ti m e with our three girls and familiesandoldfriends. We even went to the swap meet early Sunday morning and on the way home, after miles and miles of sageland, we had to stop for a train. More company this weekend week-end from Salt Lake. It was Bill and Ann Cade. Had fun In Ely one night, as Ann won $6.00 on one of those fun m achines and you would of thought she won $600.00. While there we talked with Jack Davis and his lovely wife from M ilford. They were on their way to Lake Tahoe with the famfly for a little vacation. When you come to the end of your rope - tie a knot in the end and hang in there. People once came out here and they want to stay. La-Mont La-Mont and Virginia Mollerup, our dear friends from Salt Lake, have sold their home and have purchased the Long's trailer court in Baker, Bak-er, Nev. Boy, what a change they are in for. Chickens to take care of and all those eggs. We had friends come over for ha mburgers on Monday night and it turned out good. They said they'd be here at 7:30. Well, they meant Nevada Ne-vada time and I still think Utah. Oh well, well done hamburgers ham-burgers are good, too. Arvilla and Austin William Wil-liam s drove into Delta to have Austin's driver's license li-cense retaken. The first one looked like him. Blanche and Earl Yorson finally drove into town. Earl stayed a total of 6 hours and then off he took, back to Arizona Ari-zona to take his water turn. I understand that he may return re-turn to visit next ti me. Overnight visit was made by Blanche Richardson and then she went to Ely to spend the weekend with sister, Donna Corey. On Friday, Bud and Gen Richardson drove to Ely for the funeral of Bud's aunt, Zela Roper. After services in Ely the y drove on to Las Vegas for burial there and then returned home late Saturday Sat-urday night. Lee and Darlene Whitlock and Carl and Aleeda Dear-den Dear-den took horses to Cedar City, where the men did their team roping. They got home at four in the morning. That M akes for a long day. While they were in Cedar City, Ladd Davies went to Ely to do so me roping and as of now, he stands the highest in points and money. Good luck. Cecil and LaRue Rowley left late the other night and went to Cedar City. He had meetings the next day and LaRue La-Rue had shops to go through. Daisy Gonder is home again. She was gone about a week with the 4-H group. All the cooking was left to her and, boy, was husband Emerson Emer-son glad to see her hone. He was having trouble with the can opener. Molly and Wayne Gonder have been and are now back from another trip to Washington, Wash-ington, D. C. Always glad to get ho me again. LaRue Rowley had a baby shower for daughter-in-law, Beverly Rowley from Nephi. Lots of good and tasty food and many welcomed gifts for the expected little one. Darlene Whitlock's niece, Jennifer Swallow, fro m Ely, is spending a few weeks here. This is an annual vacation for |
