Show APPLICATIONS FOR ELK PERMITS ARE DUE SOON Utah elk hunters soon face the end of open bull permit sales, the beginning of application appli-cation for restricted area per- mits, and the start of sales for archery bull permits. August 16 marks the end of sales for 1971 open bull elk permits. August 18-27 is the time to apply for restricted area elk permits. August 23-27 is scheduled for sales of archery arch-ery bull elk permits. Open bull elk permits are available on personal application applica-tion at Division of Wildlife Resources offices in Salt Lake City, Ogden, Provo, Price, Vernal Ver-nal and Cedar City. Restricted area elk permit application is made by mail only on a special form available avail-able from license agents or Wildlife Resources offices. Applications Ap-plications will be rejected if not received by the Salt Lake Wildlife Resources office by 5 p.m., August 27. 1971. Successful Success-ful applicants are selected at a public drawing Sept. 8. Archery bull elk permits may be purchased by personal application at Division offices. Persons who had an elk permit per-mit of any kind in 1970 (including (in-cluding Indian elk permits) are not eligible to purchase or apply for a 1971 permit. Only one elk permit of any kind may be purchased or applied for during a year of eligibility. All Big Game permit applications appli-cations need the hunter's Social So-cial Security number to facilitate facili-tate processing of the permit. |
