Show DEAR EDITOR LETTER ASKS OPEN MEETING ON TV I'm afraid I've been one of these people you mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I've been waiting for "George to do it.'' There have been a vast number num-ber of us citizens concerned about the present TV situation. A few of us attended the last city council meeting to discuss the matter with Roy Young. As you so aptly put it - "We were put off," I believe there Is a great deal the public is totally unaware of concerning our T.V. reception since the latter part of last year, I have listened to both sides and have drawn my own conclusions. I think the people of Milford are entitled to an open, public meeting concerning present issues. In asking Mr, Young questions, ques-tions, I feel he skirted the issues, passed the buck and evaded a direct answer to a direct question. He states the rew equipment was bought without his knowledge yet Mayor Mayer stated that Mr. Nelson was given (unanimously) (unanimous-ly) authority to go ahead on purchasing the equipment, at which Roy Young contradicted and said he was against it, but Mayor Mayer informed Roy Young the minutes read "unanimously". "unani-mously". Mr. Young claims to have spent about $20.00 in phone calls out of his own pocket, trying to find out where the equipment was being be-ing purchased from and what it was, etc. This seems ridiculous ridicul-ous when the people involved live on the same street, across the alley, kitty-corner from each other. As was agreed, there was a great communication communica-tion problem between Mr. Nelson Nel-son and Mr. Young. The new equipment was partially par-tially installed and waiting for help to finish, and work out the bugs and the TV Committee called a meeting and fired the maintenance man without Riving him or the equipment ample opportunity to perform This was also unfair to Mr. Brox, to have to step into something some-thing he was totally unfamiliar unfamil-iar with. Can't we have an open meeting, meet-ing, inviting the manufacturers; of the equipment, McKay Larson, Lar-son, maintenance man from St. George, (Frisco UHF) and representative of the manufacturers manufac-turers and get this straightened straighten-ed out. If they iwant their $4,800.00 surely we will get some satisfaction satis-faction from them. Sally Rose |
