Show FIRST ANNUAL SWIM MAKES BIG SPLASH Approximately 75 corrmftitors ranging from 7 to 16 showed 1, p for Milford's 1st Invitational Swim last Saturday, along with numerous spectators. It was fun time for all who participated. The City Fathers donated the pool and ribbons were printed by the Beaver County News to make the whole thing free for the kids. Competition was fierce, and the races were followed by a free swim for everybody. Results of the races are as follows: 7-year-old girls 1st Kerry Prodzinski, 2nd. Feature race was a relay between be-tween boys and girls, with Jackie Price and Wanda Price racing Tom Jones and Bart Farnsworth. The girls led the first half of the race but the boys won by bare inches in the final leg. It was a fine wrap up to the summer's swim. Supervised and directed by Dick Payne, Lee Symond, Jr. Davis and several ether volunteers, it is hoped that this will become an annual affair said Payne. We plan to keen the swimming pool open as long as the weather holds, Payne raid. It will be open after school hours. |
