Show 9 2uuto, But 9 Jfeaid By STEVE WILLIAMS Our MIIS Seniors agree that nothing makes a "little" knowledge as dangerous as final exam time. HE DIDN'T MEAN IT THAT WAY, KIDS ! Our efficent Highway Patrolman, Patrol-man, Ronald Gale, says he "didn't say that." Last week .quoting from the minutes of the City Council meeting, we reported that Ron had asked cooperation from local lawmen in enforcing bike ridng regulations, because "the kids are getting out of hand." Ron says he was misquoted. The bike riders, particularly the younger ones, are risking serious injury when they ig-( nore laws designed for their own safety, and unless the regulations reg-ulations are observed we could have a tregady. Mr. Gale urges closer supervision super-vision coupled with education, particularly by parents, to curb irresponsible bike riding. "I'm not jumping on the kids," Mr. Gale said. "I just want to help them avoid injury." in-jury." Prosperity that short period between the last Installment In-stallment and the next down payment. We were among the few non-Shield non-Shield Development personnel invited to a housewarming at the Ralf Kleine home last Saturday Sat-urday evening. After that "housewarming" the Kleines can abandon their furnace . . . the place won't cool off for a long time. Mrs. Kleine was a gracious hostetss, and Ralf a perfect host. The bar was amply stocked, with a variety of liquid liq-uid refreshment and the refrigerator refrig-erator filled with a wonderful imported German beer. The snack table held a variety of delicous cheeses, tidbits, and scores of barbecued spareribs. It was a wonderful evening, and a party that will be remembered. re-membered. One of our city employees suggests that the Milford Beau-tification Beau-tification Committee extend their interests to the cemetery, in additon to urging residents to clean up and beautify their yards. Periodically we have major vandalism at the cemetery, which includes pushing over and defacing monuments. And very, very frequently a half dozen or so of the smaller headstones are pushed from their foundations and replaced by city employees. Why? We can't understand youths desecrating dese-crating graves. Another complain is that students stu-dents en route to school "cut through" the cemetery, strolling stroll-ing over graves, and wearing beaten paths in the lawn. If they want to walk through the cemetery en route to school, why not follow the regular paths and driveways? We're also told some youths are using the cemetery for a ball diamond . . . with American Amer-ican Legion Park right next to the cemetery. This is outright out-right thoughtlessness, and something some-thing we think parents should become concerned about. Remember back when the entire cemetery was sand and sagebrush with tumbleweeds everywhere? It's beautiful now . . . let's keep it that way.
