Show MRS. MAUDE STOKER FETED ON 85th BIRTH ANNIVERSARY By Pat Williams In interviewing Mrs. Maude Stoker on her 85th birth anniversary, anni-versary, she told of how happy she is as a resident of the Senior Citizen Center at the Milford Valley Memorial Hospital. Hos-pital. Mrs. Stoker shares her room with Mrs. Armina Banks, and the two ladies busy themselves with handiwork. Mrs. Stoker has crocheted 400 coat hangers for relatives and friends, as well as many other items. She has also done much quilting and sewing in the Relief Society So-ciety and Welfare. On Sept. 30, 1964, she was honored by the Relief Society as "a long and serviceable member." She joined the organization or-ganization Sept. 30, 1917. In her younger days she was a practical nurse at the Milford Mil-ford Hospital, and during the years 1936 to 1942 she was supervisor su-pervisor of the school lunch in Milford. She has always found happj.ness in "doing for others." Mrs. Stoker was ibom March 27, 1884, to John F. and Suan Emily King Feredy in, Spanish Span-ish F,ork. She married Stephen W. Stoker, April 9, 1901. in Spanish Fork. They came lo Milford July 4, 1912. Mr. Stoker died Sept. 30, 1931. They had four children, two of whom are living, William W., Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Kenneth (Lillian) Bradfield: Milford; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Many relatives and friends called to wish her a Happy . Birthday on Thursday, March 27th. Mrs. Bobbie James gave her a most beautifully decorated decorat-ed cake, and Mr. and Mrs. Eradfield took her to dinner at the Hong Kong Cafe. |
