Show A. B. MERRYWEATIIER NAMED TO HEAD LOCAL WILDLIFERS The Milford Wildlife Protective Pro-tective Association held their annual meeting and election of officers Monday, Feb. 26. In the absence of Joe Jackson, president, and Dave Christiansen, Christian-sen, secretary, Thurland Sly end Wes Bolton acted in those capacities. Named to office for 1968 were A. B. Merry weather, president; pres-ident; Thurland Sly, vice president; pres-ident; and Leonard Muir, Doug Gilliam, Dave Morris, Ross Patterson, Richard Griffiths, Roy Young, W. L. Aagard, W.. L. Myers, Clark Goodwin, Eddie Patterson, Usher Wil-cock, Wil-cock, Mel Tait and Dan Hutch-ings, Hutch-ings, directors. Wes Bolton was appointed secretary. Membership was set at $2, with ladies at $1 and juniors under 16 at 50c, as in the past. The group agreed to make the usual donation of $10 to the National Wildlife Federation and National Wilderness Society. So-ciety. The club will also affiliate affili-ate with the Utah Wildlife Federation, and named Leonard Muir and Richard Griffiths as delegates to the state convention conven-tion to be held in April at Park City. Deer count rides will be made by the club at the usual times, instead of one month later as set by the Fish and Game Department. Rides are scheduled on the Mineral Mountains for March 18, 19, 20 and 21, and representatives of the Fish and Game, BLM and Forest Service will be invited in-vited to accompany the Milford Mil-ford group. Milford sportsmen sports-men will also join the later rides. Thel Riley, Fish and Game conservationist, announced that 20 wild turkeys had been released re-leased in Beaver Canyon. He also announced that 160,000 5- to 6-inch fish would be planted in Minersville Reservoir Reser-voir "as soon as the ice is gone," but the reservoir will be closed to fishing until Jan. 1, 1969. |
