Show DEMOCRATS TO PLAN PLATFORM Ray Cloward has extended an invitation to all residents of Beaver County to attend a regional Democratic state platform plat-form committee hearing to be held at the College of Southern Utah at 10 a. m. Saturday, March 2. The invitation was issued through Steve Inman, Beaver County Democratic chairman. State Platform Committee chairman Kay Allen said the purpose of the hearings is "So each citizen will have the opportunity op-portunity to tell the Democartic Party what they want their state and local governments to do in the next several years." Mr. Inman stressed that "If the people bring their ideas, suggestions and problems to this meeting, we'll try to turn these into programs of real action ac-tion on the state level." "I urge all citizens of this area, no matter what political affiliation they may have, to participate in these platform hearings," Mr. Inman said. "We're interested in what concerns con-cerns all our citizens, and want to know how we can help them build Utah into a better place to live.'' Special platform committees set up by the State Democratic organization include State goals and planning, Business, industrial indus-trial development and tourism, Natural resources and recreation, recrea-tion, Education, Higher education, educa-tion, State and federal government, govern-ment, County and local government, govern-ment, Highways and safety, Youth, Health, welfare and mental health, Taxation, Labor, Human rights, Agriculture, Party responsibility, and Law enforcement . |
