Show "ONE STOP SERVICE" TO INFORM COMMUNITY OF DEVELOPMENT AIDS Steps have been taken under a directive from President Johnson to assure that rural communities in Beaver Coun-to Coun-to have access ' to all existing services in their development efforts, according to Kendell M. Briknerhoff, chairman of the county's Technical Action Panel. Pan-el. Mr. Brinkerhoff, who also is county supervisor for Farmers Home Administration, said the system will be operated thru the Technical Action Panel, which will serve as a central, "one stop" source of information informa-tion on programs available to rural communities that might help them solve economic problems prob-lems and develop community facilities. The system has been ordered to "put the facilities of the Department De-partment of Agriculture field offices at the disposal of all Federal agencies to assist them in making their program effective ef-fective in rural areas." Mr. Brinkerhoff said it will advance the Agriculture Department's De-partment's "outreach" program, designed tu insure that rural community needs are not overlooked, over-looked, and that rural people know of programs available to them both thru the Department Depart-ment of Agriculture and other agencies. The Beaver County Technical Techni-cal Action Panel includes local offices of the Department of Agriculture, (Farmers Home Administration, Soil Conservation Conserva-tion Service, Agricultural Stabilization Sta-bilization and Conservation Service, Forest Service, Extension Exten-sion Service), and chairman of the County Development Committee. Local organizations concerned concern-ed with community advancements advance-ments will be able to determine deter-mine thru the county TAP if a federal, state, local or private pri-vate agency can help with a project that cannot be carried out solely with local resources. |
