Show MEf'DENHALL GETS MINERSVILLE FLOOD CONTROL CONTRACT V. C. Mcndenhall Construction Co. of Cedar City and Las Vegas was the apparent low bidder on the half-million half-million dollar Minersville Watershed Project, which will protect the community from floods and conserve some water for ntock in debris basins. The eight bids submitted varied from the Menden-hall Menden-hall low of $04,726.03 to a high of $782,549.20. The engineer's en-gineer's estimate for the project was $550,072.00. ..Bids were opened Tuesday afternoon in the Minersville Town Hall. i The contract calls for clearing clear-ing and grubbing lard, 800,000 cubic yards of excavation, 639,-000 639,-000 yards of compacted earth fill, 1900 yards of loose rock rip rap, 1,000 cubic yards of grouted rock rip rap, 486 feet of reinforced concrete pipe, 810 feet of non-reinforced concrete con-crete pipe and 225 cubic yards of reinforced concrete. Constructed Con-structed will be two earth fill debris basins and three earth fill diversion dikes. Sponsors are the Beaver County Commission, Minersville Miners-ville Town, the Twin-M Soil Conservation District; Minersville Miners-ville Reservoir and Irrigation Co., Minersville Land and Livestock, and the Soil Conservation Con-servation Service. Ninety percent per-cent of the $504,726 will be paid by the Federal Government, Govern-ment, with the remainder being divided among the sponsors. |
