Lela Rowley spent a few days this week with her son in law and daughter,. Mr. and Mrs. Darvel Fielding, in Ogden. John D. Leppink, who has been stationed at a U S Navy base in Memphis, Tenn., spent two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Leppink. He was en route to a new assignment assign-ment in San Diego, Calif. . lames Westergard is training train-ing as substitute city marshal. Mrs. Eva Banks left for Granada, Calif., Wednesday to care for her ' grandchildren while her son in law and caughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Hawkins, attend a convention in Sacramento. Mrs. Banks will also visit her son Ronnie, who is attending an International Interna-tional Business Machine school. 0 Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Swope and seven children are now living in Adamsville. The Swope family came to South Milford to operate the Valley View Dairy, but it was necessary neces-sary to close the dairy. son of Ogden and Danny James of Salt Lake were in Milford over the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom James. While here a birthday dinner was served at the James home Sunday, honoring 82 year old Mrs. Belle James. Mrs. James' daughter, Mrs. Leona Smith of Salt Lake and Mrs. Wanda Holm also attended the dinner. Mrs. Verna Tomsik left for Provo Monday after receiving word of the birth of a 7 lb granddaughter, born to Eddie and Ramona (Stewart) Tomsik. Eddie and Ramona also have another daughter. Tillie Rae Dixon received, word Saturday that her sister, Mrs. Louise Johnson, had died in Great Falls, Mont. Tillie left Monday for Salt Lake where she met a brother, Fred Ceibin of Sanger, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Irene Dorenues of Las Vegas, and together they flew to Great Falls to attend funeral services on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cline spent last week end in Poca-tello, Poca-tello, Idaho, with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Gillies and children. 9 Mr. and Mrs. Claude Horton drove to Salt Lake Sunday. Mr. Horton returned while Mrs. Horton remained to await arrival of a grandchild, to be born to Jim and Judy Bailey. Mrs. Wanda Munk is in Salt Lake this week to be with her son Kenneth, who underwent knee surgery in a Salt Lake hospital. Salt Lake, was home o.v week end, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Hollingshead. . Candy and Kenneth Gnm-shaw, Gnm-shaw, children of Mr. and Mrs. John Grimshaw of Bountiful, were in Milford over the week end at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wunderlich and Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Grimshaw. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Aagard and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Myers attended funeral services in Nephi Tuesday for a nephew of Mrs. Aagard, John R. Williams, Wil-liams, 14, who was electrocuted electrocut-ed last Friday while flying a kite, when the copper tail of the kite contacted a high voltage volt-age power line. M. H. Bonadurer is in Whit-tier, Whit-tier, Calif., receiving treatment for injuries suffered during the recent fire at the U P freight depot. Mrs. Bonadurer will leave Sunday to spend two days with her husband and will drive their car back. Mr. Bonadurer will remain for further fur-ther treatment. 0 Mrs. Idonna Coleman has been in Salt Lake at the home of a son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Munk.. Steve Willaims, editor of the Beaver County News, hasn't done any bragging for himself so I will. At the annual Utah State Press Assn convention in Salt Lake, Feb. 15-17, he received re-ceived the first place award for Best Editor's Column and honorable mention in the Best News Story contest. A Jesse Perkins is working out of Los Angeles for the U P. Mr. and Mrs. Val Thompson and daughter Valeries of Tooele were in Milford over the Washington's Birthday holiday. They were guests of his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson. Thomp-son. While here a dinner was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cooper. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Blackburn and daughter Erma Jean of Minersville, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Dalton and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Thompson and children Karen and Kenneth, Ken-neth, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl - Thompson. Sue Ann Thompson of Salt Lake was in Milford over the week end at the home of her parents. 9 Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davis and daughter Elaine spent the week end in Cokeville, Wyo., with Mrs. Davis' brother in law and sister, Glen and Elma Freeman. O Mrs Stanley Hughes of Shreveport, La., remained in Milford the past two weeks to be with her mother in law, Mrs. Naomi Hughes. She will leave for her home Thursday. 9 John Beitz is in a Las Vegas hospital for treatment of a nerve spasm. He became ill while working between Milford and Las Vegas for the U P. O Lorna Hollingshead, who is ' attending a beauty school in Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Hodge of Salt Lake are at the home of their son in law and daughter, daugh-ter, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Miller. 0 Elliot Arnoldson of Moroni was in Milford Friday visiting the schools and calling on old friends. 0 Read in the Iron County Record of Cedar City where Mrs. Lorraine Holm, former Milford resident, and her partner part-ner took first place in the annual an-nual King and Queen bowling tournament last week. A beautiful beau-tiful trophy and $50 in prize money were given the couple. O Steve and I had a nice week erd, spending part of it with Hub and Anna Mae Hickman of Magr.a and getting acquainted acquaint-ed with their five lovely chil-dre. chil-dre. They were in Milford over the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Grimshaw. Grim-shaw. Hub had been working for the U P but is now employed em-ployed at the Magna mill, and was recently promoted to assistant as-sistant supervisor. |
