Show 9 jbututo., Bid 9 JteaiA By SltVB WUiUAJUS Best Laugh of the Week: When the Beaver Board of Education member opined, after the game last Friday: "That Milford! They'll win by hook or crook." It was most gratifying to Milford school officials and the Milford fans to see the excellent excel-lent brand of sportsmanship displayed by Milford students all through the game, even at the end when the Beaver students stu-dents were making the rafters ring in their efforts to make Milford players miss their foul' shots. And wonder what the score was on fouling out . . . se.emed like the Beaver players knew when a Tiger fouled out before the scorekeeper had a chance to sound his buzzer. The crook is always trying for a perfect crime, and the publisher is always shooting for a perfect paper, and neither ever succeeds, although some-readers some-readers may figure some of the papers we publish, should be classed as crimes. Last week, in reporting the CD clinics we stated that Dr. Davie would administer CD shots at the Milford Medical. CD immunizations are being offered by Dr. Davie and his staff at Beaver County Clinic each Tuesday evening, starting at 6 p. m., and at Minersville LDS Church on Mondays at 6:30 p. m. We apologize for the error. And we lost part of our notes copied from the minutes of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Beaver County Hospital group. The full list of nominees suggested sug-gested by the nominating committee, com-mittee, Junior Kirk, Wanda Holm and Max Mecham, as replacements re-placements for retiring members, mem-bers, was Selma Kirk, Garnet Garfield and Don Elmer, Milford; Mil-ford; M.ax Price and James Mayer, South Milford, and Naomi Na-omi Packard, Beaver. See where Rep. Laurence J. Burton is concerned about the U S-Cuba situation . . . and the United Nations spending money to "help Cuba diversify her agricultural industry." Rep. Burton says the Administration Admin-istration position that "no U S dollars will be used in the project" borders on the ridiculous ridicu-lous since we provide 40 of the revenue for this special fund. "The only sure way that we can be assured that no American Ameri-can dollars will be used is to withhold it in the first instance." in-stance." Rep. Burton may sponsor legislation or a proposed Constitutional Amendment to prohibit the Administration or any Government agency from spending U S funds, or granting aid in any form, to nations we determine to be enemies of the United States. Such prohibition would also prevent giving funds to independent inde-pendent organizations which, I in turn, p-rant aid to our ene- mies, either directly or Indirectly. Indi-rectly. And in Denver last week James E. Powers, National Commander of The American Legion, said the Legion "is diametrically dia-metrically opposed to plans of the United Nations to sponsor an agricultural aid project for Continued on Page Three HERE'S MORE ABOUT IDUNNO Continued from Page One Cuba." It's encouraging to find more and more Americans taking a longer, closer look at our United Nations entanglements. Last week when the Red Cross Bloodmobile visited Milford, Mil-ford, the flu virus was having a big day ,and it almost wasn't worth the time of the visitors. Milford's donation was only 39 pints . . . and only on two previous pre-vious visits has the drawing been smaller. Next time they come around, Milford will try to make up for the shortage this trip. |
