Show BYU Dean Is Speaker At CSU Dedication Wesley P. Lloyd, Dean of the Graduate School at Brigham Young University, will be the guest speaker at dedication ceremonies for the new College of Southern Utah Student Center Cen-ter and Manzanita Court dormitory dorm-itory Friday, March 23, at 8 p.m., in the CSU auditorium. Dean Lloyd is an international internation-al authority in the field of education and guidance and has received invitations from countries in Europe, Asia and Africa to direct work in these fields. He is the author of five books and has served as president presi-dent or chairman of a number of state and national groups including the National Assn. of Student Personel Administrators; Adminis-trators; Utah Conference on Higher Education; Academic Council of Western Personnel Institute; Committee on International Inter-national Relations and the American Am-erican Personnel and Guidance Assn. Dean Lloyd is listed in Who'3 Who in America. Who's Who in Education, and Who's Who in the West and Current Biography. Biogra-phy. He is a member of a number num-ber of professional organizations organiza-tions including Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Delta Kappa, American Council on Personnel Administration Admin-istration and Utah Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters. The CSU band will provide music for the dedication program, pro-gram, which will be under the direction of the student body officers. Evan Stevenson, manager of the Utah State University Union Un-ion and coordinator of Student Activities, will direct a workshop work-shop on student center activities acti-vities Saturday, at 9 a.m. in the new Student Center. Mr. Stevenson is cqmpleting a four-year term as Representative Represent-ative of the International Assn. of College Unions for the In-termountain In-termountain West He has worked with student unions in all of the western states. He was awarded the 1961 Logan Lo-gan Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce Distinguished Service Award and a special "Oscar" award from CSU. The first event of dedication week activities will be the appearance of Louis Armstrong and All-Stars in the pSU auditorium audi-torium Thursday, March 22, at 8 p.m. An open hpuse will be held all day n the Student Center Friday, March 23 and from 1 to 4 p rri, at Manzanita Court. |
