Show Services Held Tuesday For Floyd Winn Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Milford LDS Church for Floyd Winn, 35, who died Sept. 30 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The services, under direction of Bishop Edgar C. Edwards, were as follows: Prayer at the mortuary preceding preced-ing the services, Harold Edwards. Ed-wards. Prelude and postlude music, Mrs. Edna Nichols. Invocation, Richard Banks. Obituary and remarks, Richard Leon Jones. Quartet, Lamar Lund, Jesse Long, Robert Wright and Dale Johnson, accompanied by Mrs. Dale Johnson. Remarks, Shirl W. Nichols. Vocal solo, Mrs. Marjorie Sherwood, Sher-wood, accompanied by Mrs. Helen Gillins. Benediction, Randall Banks. Military honors were accorded at the graveside by Milford Post No. 16, American Legion, with Post Chaplain Charles Terry dedicating ded-icating the grave and recounting Mr. Winn's military history. Pallbearers were members of the Milford Volunteer Fire Department. De-partment. Floyd Charles Winn was born April 4, 1925, in Sevier, a son of Thomas Alvin and Ada Harris Winn. He married Donna Tolley in Milford, Nov. 1, 1958. He lived in Minersville before moving to Milford, and graduated from the Milford High School. During World War II he served with the U S Marine Corps, taking tak-ing part in the action at Guadalcanal, Guadal-canal, Tarawa and Saipan. He received re-ceived two Presidential Unit Citations, Ci-tations, 3 combat stars, the overseas over-seas combat medal and 4-year good conduct medal. Returning to Milford, he was employed at Jefferson Mercantile Co., and later as shipping department de-partment manager for Sears Roebuck Roe-buck at Fresno, Calif. For two years he served as Milford City Marshal. He was president of the Milford Boxing Club, and a deacon in the LDS Church. Surviving are his mother, of Milford, his widow, Milford; a daughter, Debra Kay, Milford, and a son of a previous marriage, Jerry Ray Winn, Salt Lake; four brothers and a sister, Albert L. Winn, Madera, Calif.; Harold A. and Jack E. Winn, Milford; Mel-vin Mel-vin J. Winn, Fresno, Calif., and Mrs. Irene Kay, Salt Lake. |
