Show 1 'No Dog Saturdays' Planned by Council to Rid Milford of Strays The Milford City Council has instructed city marshals to start the annual drive against unlicensed unli-censed dogs, and announced plans for more stringent enforcement measures this year. They plan two "no dog Saturdays," Satur-days," dates of which will be announced an-nounced later. Residents will be required to keep their licensed dogs off the street, on the announced an-nounced dates, and all dogs running run-ning at large will be shot. "Each year we have scores of dogs running at large in Milford," said Mayor Ray Kizer, "and 'no one' owns them. At least no one will claim ownership at dog-li-cens time. These dogs roam the streets the year round, tipping over garbage cans and making general nuisances of themselves. We're going to get rid of them one way or another. If no one 'owns' them and will pay a license for them, we'll destroy them." "This year," the council warned "we aren't having a one-month or two-month drive to license dogs. It will go on all year. And at any time during the year when the marshals spot unlicensed dogs and they'll be instructed to be alert all year the unlicensed dogs will be shot." Dog licenses are available at the city office. Deadline for purchasing purchas-ing licenses will be Jan. 31. License Li-cense fees are $2 for male "dogs and spayed females, and $15 for unspayed females.
