Show New City Councilman j - Take Oath, Post Bonds City Employes Get Raise; New Garbage Truck Purchased Two new city councilmen were sworn in at the regular Monday : evening meeting of the Milford City Coi-ncil, and a reelected coun- 1 cilmar mewed his pledge to work for thcbest interests of the city : then the group granted all city employes (except themselves) a $15 monthly raise ;n salary. ; The new salary .scneauie is S325 per month for the city marshals, S325 for the watermaster and city foreman, $300 for the recorder, and $275 for the workmen on the garbage detail and city parks. ' The council also okehed purchase pur-chase of a new Internationa Truck bed from Service Garage on which will be mounted the new j garbage truck bed which compacts ! the garbage and refuse as it is I loaded. Purchase price was $5859. Following discussion of water . meters at the schools, and use of water for school purposes, pro- j posal ;o install meters at the two ! school bu:ldi'ls was re ferred to Cour.cilnian W. P. Morford for study. Bid of .246c per gallon for gas-: gas-: - oline, delivered to the new city - gas pump on West 300 South Street, entered by Burnett Swin-dlehurst Swin-dlehurst for Standard Oil, was accepted. ac-cepted. New councilmen are Mr. Morford Mor-ford and Roland Culver, both elected on an Independent Party ticket last November; John H. Davis Da-vis was reelected for another term. Mr. Davis was appointed mayor pro-tem, to act in the absence ab-sence of Mayor Kizer. |
