Show . - " 7 MILFORD Sociiety - Clubs MR. AND MRS. M. L. SHERIFF SHER-IFF announce the engagement of their daughter, Genevieve, to Mr. E. Dale Fowler, son of Mrs. Arleigh Fowler of Magna. No definite date for the wedding has been set. Genevieve is a graduate of Milford High School, and is employed em-ployed as a switchboard operator operat-or in the LDS Church office building in Salt Lake. Mr. Fowler, recently released from military service, is employed em-ployed by a Magna construction company. MRS. BELLE JAMES was' honored on her 76th birthday at a dinner given Feb. 22nd by Mrs. Tommy James and Mrs. James Holm. Mrs. James received re-ceived a number of lovely cards and gifts. The family dinner, given at the T. James home, was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. James Holm, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Tom James and family, and Miss Ruth Burns of Salt Lake. THE HOME of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson was the scene of pleasant activity on Feb. 22 when the family gathered to visit and enjoy TV. Members of the 'family present pres-ent were Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Blackburn and family of Min-ersville, Min-ersville, Mr. and Mrs. Val Thompson of Tooele, Leland Thompson of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Thompson and family, fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cooper and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Christensen and ia.mily of Cedar City, and Mrs. Russel Muir and family of Kearns. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis are moving into the Tri-State home at 350 South 500 West street formerly occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Maffei. MRS. STELLA PERSONS entertained en-tertained her bridge club Feb. 22nd, with a birthday party for Mrs. Hazel Baxter who received the club birthday gift and many other gifts. Lovely refreshments were served by the hostess, and the rest of the e.vening was spent playine bridge. Prizes were won Dy Mrs. Baxter, Bax-ter, Mrs. Theresa Pitchforth and Mrs. Florence Rickerson of the club, and Mrs. Cora Altman and Mrs. Nina Bingham received the guest prizes. Others present were Mrs. Lena Morris and Mrs. Frances Smithson. O Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Kirk returned re-turned to Milford Wednesday, after spending the winter in Southern California. ON MONDAY, Feb. 25, Mrs. Hazel Baxter celebrated her 70th birth anniversary at the h.ome of Mrs. Max Baxter. The i honored guest received many lovely gifts and cards. Birthday cake and hot spiced! punch were served by the hostess host-ess to Mrs. Ada Baxter, Mrs. Mae Carter and daughter, and Mrs. Hilda OLeary. MR. AND MRS. JOE RICKERSON RICK-ERSON honored Harry Mills and Douglas Moore of Salt Lake on their birthdays, Feb. 23, with a chicken dinner. Enjoying the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Vincent, Vin-cent, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Moore and family, Mrs. Laree Moore, Leland Thompson,- and Marion Vincent. , MRS. LUCILLE RAINES entertained en-tertained the Monday Night 500 club at the home of her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Audrey Skillicorn, Feb. 25th. Prizes were won by Mrs. Laverne Bunker, Mrs. Laura Lorentz and Mrs. Iola Carter. A delicious salad course was served by Mrs. Raines. Mrs. Winn of Salt Lake was an invited guest. Other members attending were Mrs. Magdalena White, Mrs. Vernetta McKnight and Mrs. Essie Thompson. MR. AND MRS. BRUNO MAFFEI were honored at a forcwell party last Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garth Banks. Friends enjoying the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. John Grim-shaw, Grim-shaw, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Horton, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis, Da-vis, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Johnson, John-son, Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Kirk, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gift, and the new Milford AT&T supervisor super-visor who replaces Mr. Maffei, Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins. THE JAYCEE-ETTES were entertained last Wednesday evening eve-ning at the home of Mrs. Afton Petty, with Mrs. Gloria Slink-erd Slink-erd as assisting hostess. President Ora Burke conducted conduct-ed the business meeting, after which refreshments were served to Mrs.. Burke, Mrs. Edna Nichols, Nich-ols, Mrs. Venice Bell, Mrs. Pat Williams, Mrs. Mary Long, Mrs. Dell Lowe, Mrs. Virginia Davis, Mrs. Arlene Bradshaw and Mrs. ' Gail Gale. MRS. THELMA GILL-INS entertained en-tertained her sewing club Feb. 21. The evening was spent in sewing and chatting. Dainty refreshments were served by the hostess to Mmes. Olive Root, Clysta Hutchings, Irene Griffiths, Lucy Reese, Emma Griffiths, Verna Tomsik, Josephine Killam, Vvs Baxter, Florence Beard and lone Baxter. MEMBERS of St. Bridget's pinochle club spent an enjoyable evening Feb. 20th at the A. A. Brinkman home. Mrs. S. E. Pitchforth was presented with a birthday cake from The Rosar-ians Rosar-ians of the parish. Prizes were won at pinochle by Mrs. O. R. Smith, Robert Bloom, Mr. Brinkman, and Mrs John Hanley. Birthday, cake and ice cream were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Brinkman and Mrs. Don Wisner. Other members present pres-ent were Father Valine. Mrs. Bloom, Mr. Wisner and Mrs. Gilbert Gil-bert McGinn. MRS. THERESA PITCH-' FORTH was pleasantly surprised sur-prised on her birthday, Feb. 26, when a group of friends and neighbors called on her in the afternoon. The afternoon was spent playing bridge, with the prizes being won by Mrs. Nina Bingham, Mrs. Hazel Baxter, Mrs. Freda Smith and Mrs. Ethel Smith. The honored guest rer ceived a number of lovely gifts and cards. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Florence Rickerson, Mrs. Afton Nielson and Mrs. Anis Openshaw. Other guests were Mrs. Essie Thompson, Mrs. Cora Altman, Mrs. Cora Jones and Mrs. Maude Mills. Later in the evening, Mrs. Pitchforth was honored at a birthday dinner in Minersville given by her son in law and daugnter, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Wood. Mr. and Mrs. M. F.
