Show MILFORD LIONS PLACE HIGHWAY SIGN NEAR BAKER SHOWING DISTANCE TO UTAH PARKS The Milford Lions Club is shooting for a larger slice of the tourist business this summer. They have placed a huge mileage-direction highway sign at the junction of Utah 21 and U S 6, five miles west of Baker,. Nev., which lists mileage to Lehman Caves, the Utah Parks, and Grand Canyon. "With the completion this spring of oiling on the last 10 miles of Utah 21," said H. L. Tolley, president pres-ident of tine Milford Lions and chairman of the Beaver County Commission, "Milford will start realizing a dream of many years catering to the tourists and cashing cash-ing in on a portion of the huge tourist business." Mr. Tolley also pointed out that Beaver and other towns on j Highway 91 will profit from in- creased tourist travel over Utah 21 through Milford to the Utah Parks. In addition to the 12x24-ft sign,' many smaller signs will be placed along the approach to the junction of Utah 21 and U S 6, calling attention at-tention to the new all-paved access ac-cess road to the Utah Parks, and some of the scenic attractions along the way. The Milford Lions also plan smaller signs along U S 91 north and south of Beaver, and in the Panguitch area on U S 89. |
