Show JAN I E FORGETS By Joan Pryor Janie was sitting by the win. dow. She was waiting for daddy to come home. She had been thinking about what he wanted for Christmas', and she wanted to tell her daddy. It was snowing outside very hard. The ground was covered with snow, and the ditches had a thick cover of ice on them. Moth-j Moth-j er was getting supper ready and Janie went to set the table. Then she heard daddy scraping his feet outside the kitchen door. He had a smile on his face as he came in the door. "And how's my little girl," he said as he kissed Janie. "I have a surprise for you. We are going to Aunt Mary's house for Christmas Christ-mas so get the suit cases packed. I'll gas up the car and we'll leave in the morning." "Oh boy!" shouted Janie, "It's such fun to go to Aunt Mary's house. She has so many things to play with, and the food is so good." "As they got hi the car Janie suddenly remembered she had forgotten to write a letter to Santa San-ta Claus. Then she yelled "Oh! Oh! Mother, Father! I have forgotten for-gotten to write to Santa. What shall I do?" "Well," said mother with a sigh, "Don't worry, he'll ibring you what you want if you say your prayers." "O K," said Janie. When they got to Aunt Marys house Janie jumped out of the car and knocked on the door. Aunt Mary answered the door, and Janie said, "Merry Christmas!" "Oh, Hi!" said Aunt Mary. Janie wrote to Santa that very day and on Christmas Day she got what she asked for. |
