Show NATIONAL LEGION COMMANDER SETS VETS DAY FOR 'MAJOR POLICY TALK' National Commander Preston J. Moore of The American Legion will bring a Veterans Day message of prime importance import-ance to the nation at 3:30 p.m. (E.S.T.) Nov. 11, through the facilities of the CBS Radio Network. Commander Moore is to address a mammoth Veterans Day luncheon in Indianapolis. The speech, which is slated to be one of his major policy, statements of the year, is expected to be picked up by Station AVISH in Indianapolis for network T'V " "-"vs vx;y - yf 4 - ,1 , . i j . if? ' 1 broadcasts at 3 :30 EST. Indianapolis, home citv of The American Legion's national na-tional headquarters, has 'been selected as the site for the Legion's Le-gion's 1958 observance of Veterans Vet-erans Day. Plans include wreath-laying ceremonies at the impressive Indiana World War Memorial, a two-hour parade, pa-rade, and luncheon at the Scottish Scot-tish Rite Cathedral. The observance is tinder the, joint sponsorship of the U S Department of Defense, the Indiana Department of The American Legion, and the Chamber of Commerce, -with the cooperation of state and city officials, and of many other organizations. In Utah the Commander's Command-er's address will be heard at 1 :30 p. m., M.S.T. Legionnaires Legion-naires are urged to check local lo-cal radio listings. In some instances local CBS stations and affiliates may be unable to carry the address because be-cause of prior commitments. James V. Day, national public pub-lic relations director of The, Commander Pres Moore American Legion,, has urged American Legion Posts in communities where the speech will be heard to include the Commander's address as a part of their own Veterans Day observance. |
