Show Legion Plans To Reach County Membership Mark Next Week An "all-out effort" to sign up at least 50 of the 1959 membership quota by Veterans Veter-ans Day, Nov. 11, has been announced by the three Beaver Beav-er County American Legion posts. Teams of Legionnaires will be calling on former members in an intensified campaign aimed at signing up every 1958 member by Nov. 11, according to Karl Farnsworth, Beaver commander; Keith Hollings-head, Hollings-head, Minersville commander, and Garthe Banks, commander command-er of the Milford post. "Department Commander L. A. Ward of Salt Lake has entered en-tered Utah in a national Le- gion membership contest," they pointed out, "and has urged all Legion posts in Utah to assist him in putting the Beehive State out in front in the national membership drive. "With the slogan 'Let's Lead the Parade at Minneapolis,' Minneap-olis,' the Utah Legionnaires have agreed to sign up more members for 1959, based on quota, than any other Department Depart-ment in the nation, and gain for Utah the honor of leading the American Legion parade at the 1959 national convention conven-tion to be held at Minneapolis. And," the three commanders promised, "Beaver County will do its part to help Commander Command-er Ward in his campaign to bring membership honors to Utah." |
