Plans 55th Mission Appeal The 55th annual World Missions Mis-sions Appeal, sponsored by the .Milford Seventh-day Advent-ist Advent-ist Church, opens Monday, Nov. 10 with house to house calls. Leading the volunteer workers work-ers participating in the city-wide city-wide drive is Mrs. James Mayer, church home missions director. Funds will go toward extending ex-tending welfare, disaster aid, and educational services at home as well as a widespread medical, welfare and educational educa-tional ministry in 185 lands abroad. On a world basis volunteer Advcntist workers in 1957 gave 5,868,096 hours in welfare wel-fare services to 6,029,403 per sons. More than $1 million in cash, 5 million articles of clothing and almost 2V2 million mil-lion food baskets were contributed con-tributed in a relief program conservatively valued at $24,-562,401. $24,-562,401. About one-half of this aid was given in North America. Seventh-day Adventist members mem-bers themselves contributed more than $72 million last year toward the support of their world church program in addition to welfare activities. activi-ties. . 1 |
