Show Bloodmobile Lists Beaver County Stops Karl Farnsworth, Beaver chairman, and Mrs. Jackie Williams, Milford chairman, announced visits for the Red Cross Bloodmobile to Beaver Countv. Stops are scheduled Milford next Tuesday, Sept. 16, and for Beaver on Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Sept. 17. In Milford the drawings will be at the L D S Church, and in Beaver at . the First-Third First-Third Ward Church. Hours at Milford are from 3 to 7 p. m., and at Beaver from 4 to 7 p. m. The American Legion Auxiliaries Aux-iliaries are canvassing the communities for donors. It has been several months since the Bloodmobile stopped in Beaver, Mr. Fahnsworth said, and the last time it did stop, only two pints of blood were contributed. "People in Beaver, meanwhile, mean-while, have benefitted and received re-ceived considerable amounts of blood from the program," Mr. Farnsworth said. Mr. Farnsworth pointed out that all Red Cross blood is furnished free, the only charge being for hospital expense. From other sources, cost of a pint of blood is from $45 up. Last year Utah was second in the nation in the amount of Red Cross blood and blood derivatives received, foremost among them being the gamma globulin made available during dur-ing measles epiVlemics. Everyone physically qualified quali-fied is urged to participate in this vital project. Qualifications Qualifica-tions are that a person must be between the ages of 18 and 60 and weigh more than 110 lbs. Males between 18 and 21 must have parents' permission. permis-sion. A doctor ,vill be present to advise don'.vs. A person may donate blood every eight weeks, to a maximum maxi-mum of five times a year. Meals may be eaten as usual, and light refreshments will be served following the donation. Persons suffering from malaria ma-laria during the past year, from yellow jaundice during the past two years, who have recently undergone surgery or had a baby, should not aj-ply. aj-ply. In Reaver, transportation to the blood donor center will be furnished if donors will phone Mrs. Alice Swindlehurst, HE 8-2327, or Karl Farnsworth, HE 8-2315. Milford donors who need transportation should phone 1)J 7-2842. Mrs'. Williams, Milford, advised ad-vised that although the Blood-mobile Blood-mobile received 78 pints of blood in Milford during their last visit, the drawing- was still "below juota," and urged prospective donors to reserve next Tuesday afternoon for a trip to the Rloodmobile Center.
