Show HOUSE COMMITTEE TO MAP CONTROL OF VET HOSPITAL PROGRAM As the House Veterans Affairs Af-fairs Committee opened hearings hear-ings on July 15 to determine who is to control the VA medical med-ical and hospital program, VA Administrator Sumner G. Whittier called on Congress to set a policy to "answer the questions now left unanswered" unan-swered" in the care of sick and disabled veterans. Appearing as the first witness, wit-ness, Whittier urged Congress to adopt a policy which "would dispel many of the dark clouds of misundersand-ing, misundersand-ing, would make operations among the different departments depart-ments of government and the Congress a more efficient functioning effort, and give the administrator of veterans affairs a happier and smoother highway to follow as he seeks to carry out the will of Congress Con-gress and the people in caring for the needy and disabled veterans of this republic."
