Show FIRE DAMAGES DOYLE SLY FARM IN SOUTH MILFORD Damage amounting to $2500 resulted from two blazes at the Doyle Sly milk barn in South Milford last Sunday afternoon. Lost were a grain combine, four tons of barley, 150 lbs of choice alfalfa seed, a milking machine, tools, welding outfit, out-fit, and other miscellaneous equipment. Mr. Sly said the barns and equipment were not insured. The fire was first discovered discov-ered about noon by members of the family, and the Mil-ford Mil-ford Volunteer Fire Department Depart-ment was called. By the time the firemen arrived, the fire had apparently been extinguished, extin-guished, with little damage., A. half hour later the fire again broke out, and the barn was wrapped in flames before it was discovered. The firemen fire-men again made the run to the Sly farm, but the blaze was beyond control. The volunteers, volun-teers, however, confined the blaze to the barn. Three weeks ago Doyle Sly's brother, Earl, lost a barn, corrals, sheep, sheds and grain in a similar fire. Mr. and Mrs. Sly expressed sincere appreciaton to the Milford Volunteer Fire Department, De-partment, and friends and neighbors who assisted during the fire. |
